Primary Purpose:

Maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district. Assist in the accomplishment of all jobs assigned to the general maintenance department. May work alone or assist others as required. Assist in maintaining, organizing, and cleaning shop, vehicles, tools and equipment.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Valid Texas driver's license

Good driving record

High school diploma or GED

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to read and understand written instructions

Ability to communicate (verbally)

Ability to operate tractor and landscaping equipment

Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools

General knowledge of basic construction, maintenance techniques, basic shop, and hand tools such as saws, drill, grinders, etc.

General knowledge of basic air conditioning systems

Must be able to read and understand various measuring devices such as tape measures, basic volt meters, and gauges on equipment.

Able to be trained and certified to inspect and service all district handheld fire extinguishers.

 

Experience:

One year experience in building maintenance or the construction industry
