Primary Purpose:
Academic Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning. The Academic Coach will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-base effective instruction. In order to meet this purpose, the Academic Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers.
Job will include 10 extra contracted days.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required
Master’s degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate required
Highly Effective
Experience:
At least five years of successful teaching experience
Experience in development, preparation, and presentation of professional development preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of campus curriculum areas
Specific knowledge of assigned content area(s) and state assessments
Specific knowledge of assessment and lesson design
General knowledge of serving special populations of learners
Demonstrate organizational and technology skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
